The Board of Education is responsible for ensuring that the District’s educational program is delivered in safe, clean, well-maintained facilities.”Because the schools serve as a focal point for the community, the Board shall also strive to ensure that facilities fit harmoniously and attractively into their neighborhoods and have flexibility of design to meet future educational and community needs.”

The Board’s responsibilities include the approval of additions or major alterations to existing buildings, determination of the method of construction financing, and approval of the selection of architects, structural engineers, and contractors.
