Welcome to the Piedmont Unified School District’s Facilities Bond Program website. Thanks to voter approval on November 8, 2016, the District is embarking on a program to modernize and improve school facilities to better support our educational programs.
This website is intended to provide information on the bond program, including answers to frequently asked questions and an archive of reports and other documents relating to the bond program.
The District will provide regular updates about the H1 facilities bond program at Board of Education meetings, which are televised on KCOM. All are welcome to attend, ask questions, and share their thoughts and comments. Written updates will be archived under the “Background & History” tab above. Questions may be addressed at any time to the Board of Education at email@example.com or to Superintendent Randall Booker at firstname.lastname@example.org.
News & Information
In April 2017, the District held three community town hall meetings and a student forum to discuss concept designs for new high school STEAM facilities, and created an online feedback form for anyone who was unable to attend one of these meetings. The community input reflected a strong preference for using the current site of Alan Harvey Theater to locate a new three-story main building with STEAM classrooms. On May 24, 2017, the Board of Education voted to approve a concept design reflecting this community input — a three-story main high school building on Magnolia Avenue and a new theater. For more information about this concept design, see this summary and presentation.
