V. Construction Update

Pete Palmer, Measure H1 Program Manager

Overaa continues to address “punch list” items in the STEAM building and Performing Arts Center, including fine tuning of the Building Maintenance System that monitors power use for purposes of promoting conservation. Overaa expects to complete all remaining work by June 30.

The District is continuing to work on the AV systems and expects these to be fully operational before the start of the 2022-23 school year.

As all Measure H1 bond funds have now been spent, the summer and future facilities projects will be funded from other sources. The summer of 2022 projects include: installation of new, high-efficiency heating and cooling systems in elementary schools and the STEAM server room (which supports the entire District); electrical upgrades; replacement of MERV13 air filters; replacement of the Havens playfield turf; and improvements to the Witter Field Complex parking lot.

VI. Program Budget Update

Ruth Alahydoian, Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Alahydoian presented an updated financial report reflecting that all Measure H1 bond funds and interest earnings on those funds have now been expended:

The District borrowed money to complete the Performing Arts Center and holds these loan proceeds in a separate fund. The Piedmont Education Foundation is paying the interest on this loan. The District expects to receive State modernization funds in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years, and a portion of this State money will be used to repay this loan.

CBOC meeting dates for the 2022-23 school year will be announced in August.
